Details As Shown: Waterford Crystal Golden Era Chandelier - Château de Montbâliard Style LC937 Color: P-510S Patina Brown - Solid Iron - Waterford Crystals. 60"diameter x 90"t. Features artistic hand forged steel and heavy detailed 1/2" thick hand detailed curl are detailed both sides. Hand cut leaf work frame, gentle curves, jutting spirals cradle the tapered candelabra lights creating an accord between style and elegance. All custom cut design elements are solid hand forged steel with exception of the wire traces only. Genuine hand cut faceted Waterford crystals. The wire hide is designed to mount to any standard electrical light receptacle includes two decorative mounting screws. This type of cap also allows for the use of a (customer supplied) chandelier remote winch that allows you to remotely raise and lower your chandelier for service and maintenance. Historical Origin And Design Inspiration

The Château de Foix is a castle which dominates the town of Foix in the French dâpartement of Ariège. it is known as a centre of the Cathars.


Built on an older 10th century fortification, the castle is known from 987. In 1002, it was mentioned in the will of Roger I, Count of Carcassonne, who bequeathed the fortress to his youngest child, Bernard. In effect, the family ruling over the region were installed here which allowed them to control access to the upper Ariège valley and to keep surveillance from this strategic point over the lower land, protected behind impregnable walls.

Historical Origin And Design Inspiration

Balmoral Castle is a large estate house situated in the area of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, known as Royal Deeside. The estate was purchased by Queen Victoria's consort Prince Albert, and remains a favourite summer royal residence. The Balmoral estate has been passed down the generations and has gradually expanded to more than 260 square kilometres (65,000 acres).


Balmoral Castle, painted by Queen Victoria in 1854 during its construction. The Balmoral Estate began as a home built by Sir William Drummond in 1390. The estate was formerly owned by King Robert II (1316"1390), who had a hunting lodge in the area. After Drummond, the estate was sold to Alexander Gordon, the 3rd Earl of Huntly, in the 15th century. The estate remained in the family's hands until it was sold in 1662 to the Farquharsons of Invery, who sold the estate in 1798 to the 2nd Earl of Fife. The estate formed part of the coronation activities of King George IV in 1822.


Balmoral, c.1890-1900. Balmoral is today best known as a royal residence, the summer retreat of Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh. Its history as a royal residence dates back to 1848, when the house was rented to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert by the trustees of Sir Robert Gordon (who had obtained a long-term lease of the castle in 1830 and died in 1847). They very much enjoyed their stay in the house, and they paid just over £30,000 for full ownership in 1852. Prince Albert immediately started making plans with William Smith to extend the existing 15th century castle, and make a new and bigger castle fit for the royal family. The new building Prince Albert ordered to be built within a hundred yards of the old castle was planned and designed partly by himself and completed in 1856.


The foundation stone for Balmoral Castle was laid by Queen Victoria on 28 September 1853 and can be found at the foot of the wall, adjacent to the West face of the entrance porch. Before the foundation stone was placed in position Queen Victoria signed a parchment recording the date. This parchment, together with an example of each of the current coins of the realm, were placed in a bottle, which was inserted into a cavity below the site prepared for the stone.


Along with Sandringham House, Balmoral is the private property of the British royal family and not part of the royal estate. Their succession became an issue in 1936, when Edward VIII abdicated as king. The estates were legacies Edward had inherited from his father, George V, and did not automatically pass to his younger brother George VI on abdication. George had to explicitly purchase Balmoral and Sandringham from Edward so that they could remain private retreats for the monarch's family.

The Castle originated from a fortified building erected in the 13th century next to the city's walls. This first edifice was called Castelvecchio ("Old Castle"), and was the seat of the Bishopric of Trent from the 13th century onwards.

The Château de Montaigne is a castle situated on the borders of Pârigord and Bordelais, near Bergerac and Saint-Émilion, in the small commune of Saint-Michel-de-Montaigne in the Dordogne dâpartement of France. This fortified castle dates to the 14th century and was the family residence of the renaissance philosopher and thinker Michel de Montaigne.


Built in the heart of a majestic park, whose layout was designed by the philosopher himself, the residence was acquired in 1477 by the great-grandfather of Michel, Ramon Eyquem, a Bordeaux trader, who thus acquired the hereditary title of Lord Montaigne.


Michel's father, Pierre Eyquem, settled in the castle with his family, and there Michel spent a studious childhood"”he is said to have spoken Latin at the age of seven"”before leaving to continue his studies at the college of Guyenne in Bordeaux.

The Château de Sedan is a castle situated in Sedan, France, on a headland on the border of Meuse, flanked by the rivers Bièvre and Vra, in the Ardennes dâpartement of France. It is a grand fortress of medieval European stock, covering an area of 35,000 m2 in its seven floors.


Around 1424, Évrard de la Marck built a manor with two twin towers around a church over a period of six years. When Evrard died in 1440, his son Jean de la Marck began reinforcing the fortress, but it was Robert II de la Marck, the grandson of Jean, who finished the most important work. In 1530, the fortifications of the manor were modernised by the construction of a circular boulevard and terraces with canons, thickening the 4.5m curtain wall by an additional 26m.

The Château de Landreville is a castle situated in the commune of Bayonville in the Ardennes dâpartement of France. Within the territory of a 12th century châtelain, the castle was built in the early 13th century and remodelled in the middle of the 16th century. S.A.F. does not paint or faux finish any of our iron creations. Paint fades, chips and cracks over time and patinas last forever. No Drop Forged Casted Copies. No Paint Or Powder Coated Finishes. limited edition or original works. Every surface of this furnishing is finely finished including the undersides and hidden areas.


Each item is finished to be virtually maintenance free and to age with grace. All steel parts are hand patina finished the old fashioned way by iron oxide hand applied with high temperature heat. We never powder coat or faux paint our steel, it has been proven paint and powder coating methods do not hold up over time. You may choose from many natural iron oxide colors. The natural color of most of our finishes are water based and earth friendly. You may order any single color or texture finish at no extra charge.

All Steel Is Coal Fired, Hammered By Master Blacksmiths The Old Fashioned Way And Patina Finished. At Scottsdale Art Factory, we take pride in our traditional, superior quality workmanship and craft our products from only the finest steel. Our master blacksmiths have been classically trained, and utilize old world techniques such as coal firing, anvil hammering and hand forging to create the finest handcrafted hardware available anywhere. All of our steel work is hand patina finished by heat applying iron oxides to achieve a natural patina finish that will stand the test of time.


Nothing is Drop Forged. We create works The Old Fashioned Way using solid hand forged steel, (drop forging is a poor quality, casted copy of a hand forged work of art). Nothing is wrought iron; wrought iron is simply a softer and less sturdy form of metal that cannot compare to stronger hand forged low carbon steel.
